Actor Damian Lewis has a lot of soccer in his English blood.

A Liverpool fan, he was brought up around the game and today when he’s all set to perform in a movie that provides him the opportunity to meet the legendary Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard, do you think he could give it a miss?

The actor though a Londoner accepts that he has been a Liverpool FC fan since he was a kid who loved the Scrousers the way they were.

He says that he loves the Scousers for their cheeky and intelligent behaviour and their quick vocal pattern.

The actor will be playing the role of Will’s dad Gareth and accepts that mastering the Scrouse accent was no child’s play.

If you asked the stars from Hollywood about their most prized possessions, the answers would mostly be ‘my Oscar Award’, or ‘my Golden Globe’, or ‘my Emmy’; but you ask the question to Damian Lewis and your heart will surely warm up to him.

The actor takes utmost pride in the pictures of his mother on his mantelpiece, and says that he draws immense inspiration from her and from the little lessons that she taught him. The first of these lessons is to be always kind to others, which we believe is one of the greatest qualities that anyone in a position of fame can have.

Even though Damian does no bragging about how altruistic he is, the warm look in his eyes and his compassionate persona say it all.

He goes on to proudly announce that he has never felt bored, ever. It is evident that Damian is firmly grounded to his roots, and takes pride in not just his mother and the lessons that she taught him, but also in his English roots and the memories from his childhood.

He recalls being a narcissistic as a child, and reveals that he could barely ever go past a mirror without looking at his reflection in it. He hated being a redhead and found it difficult to gain the attention of girls as a teenager.

He says that he is still single, and laughs at the prospect of being gay, saying that he isn’t gay, even though it would be easier. LOL!

Actor Damian Lewis starred in the show Life for two years while he was in the USA. He became so increasingly involved in his work that he became an American, unintentionally.

The actor has recently told that he has developed American accent as if he is a native of America. Damian revealed that he would wake up in the USA with an American accent. When he would go shopping, he would completely act American.

And that’s not something he would do deliberately.

He has told that it is only when he would start talking to an Englishperson that he would realize the ridiculous change in his accent. But he likes his home a lot and so has taken up the role in ‘Stolen’ as an opportunity to go back to the UK.

He has also said that he and his wife were not able to spend some time together, because of the work pressure. But the cancellation of the show has left the two with ample time together. Damian has also starred in ‘Band of Brothers’ in 2001, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Then he got the role of Charlie Crews in the mystery drama, Life. He will soon be seen in Rob Walker’s horror film, ‘Lords of Magic.’ He is also said to be playing the lead role in another thriller, ‘Man Is Wolf To Man.’

Life was a crime drama based show and it really did help establish his career in USA. But the actor always wanted to come back to the UK to help raise his two kids. Well, with the kind of work he has in his hand, it does not look like he would be required to leave the country and go across the pond.

If that happens, he would soon catch up on his native English accent as well.
